I hadn't really thought too much about it. I've just been admiring the progress of the nest when I go out to check the mail. It has taken the bird several weeks to build the nest. There are all sorts of sticks and twigs even mud to glue the whole thing together.
A few days ago I went out to check the mail and I was ATTACKED! I'm not kidding. Two birds came flying at my head and I fell over backwards. It was kind of embarrassing, especially because we live on a busy road. I'm guessing the bird must have some eggs in there and now she and the daddy bird are extremely protective of the nest.
I forgot to tell Greg about the attack and today the birds attacked him too! I don't know what we are going to do! I am scared to check the mail. These birds are clearly not afraid of me. I will be glad when the eggs hatch and the birds can move on. Until then, I'm not sure what to do about my mail!

I can't even count how many time I or one of my sisters have been attacked by birds. Our whole family hates them. As soon as you started this story I was thinking to myself, "NO, tear down the nest! Don't let it stay!!" I knew the attack was coming. The best part though is that Greg got attacked too. lol. Hopefully he didn't fall over too. :)
That is a strange place for a nest! How is it even staying up there?
Um... scary.... Can't believe they actually flew at your head!
Ha! That is such a funny story. I think there is a nest right outside my window because every single day the same bird (or at least it sounds like it) wakes me up at like 5:30 am! Hopefully yours aren't too loud in the am.
