Nursing Necessities

What is/was your favorite nursing bra/tank?????

There seem to be so many options and I would love to know what worked for my mommy friends.

-Full sling/half sling?
-Bra/Tank?
-Hook closure/Racer back?

The only thing I'm relatively sure about is that wires are not my friend.

I have 2 criteria:
-Comfort
-Support

I was planning on being fitted but I just don't think I'll be going anywhere for a while. Seems like I can order just about anything online or have Greg do some shopping for me.

Please don't be shy, I really don't want to get stuck with bad bras, your opinions are greatly appreciated!!! Please include the brand and where it was purchased if you have that information. Also, if you tried something that absolutely did NOT work, I would love a heads up!

Those were my absolute favorite ones!! I have tried just about every nursing bra invented and those are by far my favorite!! They are so comfy and you forget you are even wearing a bra. Perfect to sleep in too...

Sometimes, however, I felt there wasn't enough support holding up the boobs up...

I just said boobs. Sorry!

I liked having some padding on mine. That way if I leaked a little (or a lot) the bra could help soak it up. Because even after you think you've got things under control leakage wise, you still manage to leak. I also liked having a nice comfy one for sleeping. I have to buy all new ones for baby #3. They were all officially destroyed after 2 kids. I'd tell you what kind I liked, but I didn't really like any of mine all that much. But I did like padding. :)

Shawna Cozens pointed me to your blog. My first pregnancy had complications that landed me on bedrest and then in the NICU, so I feel for you!

I have a couple bravado nursing bras. No underwire for me. One of them is the kind you have to pull over your head though and I haaaate that one. The other one is awesome though. Like the other commenter said, a little padding is nice so you don't end up with an awkwardly wet shirt in public.

I just emailed you on FB with all the details.

Wear nursing pads so you don't leak. Also, some different styles of the Bravado do include padding..

Howdy! A fellow April bed rest momma here. I'm looking for this info too but wanted to note that you should check with your nurse to see if the hospital has someone who can fit you for a nursing bra. Mine does so it may be worth investigating on your side as well!

These are the nursing pads I prefer. Amazon gives you a super deal with the "mommie" membership (free) and if you subscribe -- you are not stuck with it at all if you do.

1. Must have for sleeping. The first month or so of nursing will make you sore. I've never slept in a bra before until I started nursing. It is thin and not bothersome and allows you to wear nursing pads at night (a must!)

2. Supportive enough to wear out -- but super comfortable and easy to nurse in around the house. Used this from for about 3 months, but now I don't wear it out anywhere, just around the house.

3. When you are ready for an underwire again -- when soreness/swelling goes down -- this is the bra I like. Again, easy to nurse in, but more supportive than the sports bra type. (although, I think underwire bras are totally personal choice, everyone likes something different) You will get bigger after she is born, so don't buy it snug (in the cup).

BEST OF LUCK! PRAYING FOR YOU AND YOUR PRECIOUS LITTLE GIRL! :)
